Some thoughts on Singapore Budget 2010 Part 4SM Goh’s sense has been that many Singaporeans feel that this year’s Budget is “unexciting” – that this year”s Budget had “nothing very much for most Singaporeans” in terms of goodies. He said: “That’s because this year, the minister has decided that it should not be a distributive Budget…more importantly, we want to focus on the future…increase the wage level of Singaporeans and, better still, increase their capacity to earn more in the future.” He said that the Budget “aims to take the economy to a higher level from the present developed economy that we have to an advanced economy”. Leadership must always look ahead. And it must alsways look up. Aspirations to advance, to improve, to prepare for the future….. These are essential to good leadership. The church of Jesus Christ must also aim to improve, to advance, to prepare for the generations. Previous posts Some thoughts on Singapore Budget 2010 |
