Some thoughts on Singapore Budget 2010 Part 3

The Singapore Budget 2010 is structured to help companies. Very little is directly targetted to individuals as citizens /PRs.

I know of people who remark that they are disappointed with the lack of a “hand-out” from the government.

In fact, they say that they have come to expect a “hand-out” as they have been receiving it every year in previous budgets.

That’s the way we are, isn’t it? What is a privilege is now seen to be an entitlement. We have come to take it for granted. It seems to be our rights to have “hand-outs” now.

I, for one, will certainly appreciate a “hand-out”. But I’ve also come to realise it is not what I can expect all the time.

Let’s not take the blessings in our life for granted.
