Lesson from a pencil. A short pencil is better than a long memory. I had heard this from my late Interestingly, our lives as Christian can be compared to a pencil, too. Like the pencil’s true worth is in its lead imbedded at its core, so is the Christian’s value is in his heart. The pencil is useless by itself. Only when it is sharpened and handled upon by somebody will it be functional. What it writes depend 100% to the one who uses it. In the same manner, the Christian is inutile without God to sharpen and control him through the Spirit. His life can only be a blessing when in total dependence to God. Furthermore, when something scribbled on paper is undesirable and needed a change, you may use its eraser head to remove it. Christians, likewise, should have a forgiving mindset. When somebody commits sin against him, he must be ready and disposed to forgive and forget by God’s grace. It’s my prayer that everytime you see your pencils in your drawers or pencil holders at your office desks, you will be reminded of your life in relation to God. |
