He is an amazing septuagenarian. At 79 years old, he ran 76 marathons and still counting. I’m refering to Mr Chan Meng Hui. He’s the oldest Singapore marathoner. His last run was last year’s Standard Chartered sponsored marathon. He clocked 8 hours and 15 minutes for the 42.195 km. run. Which is why the Da Qiao Primary School teacher refused to give up six years ago on a Primary 1 child that the other teachers found ‘bossy and aggressive’, and who continued to have various disciplinary problems throughout primary school.
