I received this touching story passed to me in an email from a former classmate in college. My wife and I had the privilege to be part of a group visiting at Singapore’s Basic Military Training Center recently. As an anxious Dad, I wanted to know what will it take for my son to be in the National Service someday. All my concerns centered in the area of security. Will my son be safe in [...] I read a man’s comments this week about being a Father. ‘It’s easy to become a dad, but hard to be a dad.” Parenting is responsible upbringing. It is not pampering. It is not saying “yes” to every whim and fancy of your child. Parents have to provide, but we will also need to prepare our children for the day we can no longer provide.
